I had to select 1 star as it's the lowest it would allow. My Father in law had the misfortune of staying in this Horrid place. I walked in to find 2 staff members Goading and tormenting him. This was reported but nothing was done. His clothes went missing along with his Gold watch. His health dramatically deteriorated . No record of his medication was available. I made some charts myself and asked if they could fill them in when he ate, drank and took his prescribed medication. None of this was adhered to. One staff member told us of many incidents that she had witnessed. The staff turned off my father in laws emergency buzzer so when he collapsed in his son's arms and my partner pressed it several times and shouted for help. No one came. I demanded a meeting with the management and social services. 2 staff members were allegedly dismissed but then were back on shift a week later!!!. The anonymous staff member said they let them back as they were short staffed. Social services visited but as the visit was an arranged one . That had documents to hand to show medication was logged. I know from the anonymous staff member that this was done after we complained. Please do not put any loved family member in this place. I would not leave a pet in their care . This was several years ago so let's hope things have improved since then.

We removed my mum from another residential care home due to poor care and treatment and have nothing but praise for Penn houses manager and staff team, mum has been there a week now and the staff have worked really hard to make her previous experience a thing of the past , I have found all the team to be kind ,caring and willing to go the extra mile to ensure my mum feels loved and safe , we as a family cant thank them enough for their kindness..
