A relative booked afternoon tea and specifically asked if they could cater for dairy free. I was presented with an identical tray to others with no butter on sandwiches (dry bread). Cheese? Cakes with cream and chocolate. Obviously with an allergy to milk I could not eat them. They apologised and did not charge for the dairy free one. It is fortunate that I know ingredients of different cakes etc. I shall not visit again. It spoilt a birthday treat. Have the owners not seen the news about deaths caused by allergens? How dangerous. Dietary restrictions: Dairy free, means no milk, cream, yoghurt, butter, cheese and milk derivatives.
