1 - I sold my vehicle to PCBS the day after I removed the private plate to put the original one back on. I was advised that they will still take the vehicle and I just need to provide them with the new V5C log book and "THEY" advised that "THEY" would notify the DVLA so that I would get a back dated tax refund. 1 month later and they have now sold the vehicle and guess what, no refund of tax and when contacting the DVLA, I was still the registered owner. I have now corrected this myself and I hold my hands up, it SHOULD be the responsibility of the seller to notify the DVLA but PCBS should not have offered this as something they would do. I was COMPLETELY transparent with this company and stuck to my promises of sending over the log book the second I received it and they never stuck to their promise. It almost seemed that they wanted to avoid having to re-tax the car and pay the 165 and wait for the new buyer to do it so that they wouldnt have to pay it.
2 - This is something that I think that Alfie should consider NOT doing when speaking to the seller after taking ownership of the car. I agreed on a price of XX300 and when they arrived, they tried to find faults with car to try and knock me down and this was a struggle for them as the car was in perfect condition. They then plugged in their cheap OBD code reader and advised that their was an error which related to an issue with the DPF. Now... I challenged this and said well first of all, there are NO lights on the dash and I then plugged in my OBD reader and proved that mine did not pick up on the error. I then advised that I did have a car that we could test BOTH mine and their code readers on to identify if they would pick up an issue that I was already aware of so we did and both readers picked up the error so that ruled out the readers being less efficient than the other. After countless negotiating I agreed to let the car go for 150 less as PCBS was concerned of what their reader had picked up on the car even though no lights had appeared on the dash. I then contacted PCBS to notify them that I had posted the V5C log book for them to carry out their promise (Which they never did) and Alfie off his own back told me that when they got the car back to the dealership, they plugged in their more up market expensive code reader and his words "Thankfully" the issue that they were concerned about didnt come up. So I accepted less for nothing and he off his own back tells me. I would not use this company again, purely because of how they handled everything after.
