Been with Santander for 10 years with my personal business account (self employed). I have seen my club go from part time alongside other work I did, to now turning over 100,000. My accountant suggested I switch to a Limited company. Took a while to speak to someone with April closing in. Eventually spoke to Tauheed who asked many questions. Despite being business manager there was a lot of things he needed to go check up on. He seemed concerned I purchase custom boxing gloves abroad... however I then checked and found that I no longer need to send overseas payments anyway. I was to have to wait several days for a response. In the end I had to chase him. He said he was still waiting a response but currently it would be either 7.50 or 12.50 a month. Following day I chased as still no response as promised and he emailed to say they can't offer me anything right now??? I asked for reasons and he couldn't say anything on email. He said he tried to call and I had explained I live out in the sticks so either a home phone call or just reply supply via email. Still nothing! This is bang out of order in my opinion to have used Santander for so many year's, never been in debt or had any issue. Then have waiting over 2 weeks I get no response to why!? Thankfully both NatWest and Virgin Money could sort out banking instantly with me and even offered standard overdraft should I need it. It was set up with Virgin in minutes and their app has been fantastic so far. I tried to stay with Santander having been used to their online banking and for loyalty, with my don't fix what isn't broken attitude. I've now got 3 days to shift all my income and outgoings across before 1st to trade as a limited company in new tax year. Tauheed still has given me no reasonings despite being reminded of the loyalty I have shared with Santander for a decade and having had nearly 3 weeks of my time wasted to offer the my business. 10 years of banking I was happy with spoilt by one branch and 1 bank manager. Not happy at all.
