Country Huts on the Wolds

We had a fantastic two-night stay in the Wicket Hut. This was our second visit to the huts and once again, it did not disappoint. The hut had everything we needed and more. The bed was super comfy, a well-equipped kitchen and cute little pull-out table to eat indoors - with additional table outdoors for eating on the veranda. The shower was plenty big enough and there were no issues with warmth or power - both great! We pre-purchased a breakfast pack which was in the fridge ready for us on arrival. Thixendale had a cricket match on during our stay and so we enjoyed that for most of the afternoon while we watched the world go by. Perfect. We also took a little stroll along the picturesque valley and had a game of croquet with set provided underneath the hut. On our final night we lit the firepit which was simple and straightforward to use and was great for making some chocolate fondue with marshmallows and strawberries! Some lovely little touches from the host included a slice of cake and a fresh bread loaf - yummy! Thank you once again for a wonderful stay - we will be booking again

Absolutely fabulous two night stay in Wool Hut. Gorgeous location with swallows and martins flying in the evenings and early mornings, hares in nearby fields and the sound of raptors (owls and kestrels) out hunting. A wildlife lovers location. The hut is very well equipped. A simple kitchen with everything you practically need for a short stay. Bathroom is excellent and has an amazing shower. Bed super comfy. Good storage options to make best use of the space. Plenty of power outlets for gadgets and super fast wifi. Hosts are friendly and helpful, and instructions are all spot on. I will be returning to enjoy more of the Wolds (and the cake)!

I booked the Wool Hut for a quiet solo retreat and was very impressed with the whole experience. The hut itself is charming and there were numerous thoughtful touches that made me feel very welcome, from the slice of cake on arrival to the binoculars I used to spy on the lambs. Charlotte was extremely helpful throughout the booking process and during my stay. I was really impressed with the tastefully rustic decoration, the kitchen and bathroom were excellent, and I especially enjoyed relaxing on the porch to enjoy the view down the valley. I'll be back and I've recommended the Country Huts on the Wolds to friends and family. Thanks again!
