Today I had one of my best day in paragliding Elementary course with Andy Shaw, who has massive experience about airsports and precise in teaching. I strongly recommend to anyone if you want to learn about airsports to get session with Andy.

Thanks to the whole Green Dragons team for a fantastic first day of my Parascending elementary pilot course. Green Dragons are one of very few schools to teach this and so far my experience has been excellent. Questions I had before booking were responded to quickly and the online booking system is easy to use with clear details of days that are available. Once booked in, a text message and e-mail was sent the evening before confirming the start time for the day once the weather forecast had been assessed as suitable for flying. The large private site used for teaching and good instructor to student ratio allowed for lots of flying and meant we were never waiting long between flights even on a busy Saturday. The instructors I met on the day were all knowledgeable and friendly but Id particularly like to call mention Jamie for his skills, he has a great teaching style, encyclopaedic knowledge of the sport and an evident passion for helping others succeed (not to mention a tireless energy for running across the field while ground handling)! Im very much looking forward to continuing my elementary pilot course.

The club is in a great location, had great facilities and great instructors but I had a few quite serious (in my opinion) problems. I paid for a PPG EP course which is 100 more that a PG EP course but despite talking about it every day apparently they got mixed up and put me on the PG course instead. I never got a refund or an offer to knock 100 off my next course despite asking. I took 2 weeks off work and multiple days were, in my opinion, perfect but we didn't get a single day of flying in. I am now a qualified PPG Pilot and at the time I was a qualified GA pilot so have a good understanding of wind, I asked to speak to someone so I understood why it was being cancelled - to learn more about good flying weather - but nobody would speak to me about this. I paid for a 5 day course and was told I was done in 4 days. I assumed I would get an extra day of training but I didn't and I'm aware others have completed the course in 3 days. This makes the price look very different and it's not explained in the booking. Finally, the worst part is the 9pm notification which often then becomes an early morning follow up. When I fly passengers in my aircraft and when I have since trained at other schools the instructor/I when flying will normally give passengers a point of view about 2 weeks out. If there is a storm coming I know and tell them it's unlikely or if it's perfect weather a week either side I know it's likely. I them provide an update 1 week, 72hrs, 48hrs, 24hrs and the night before. If the chance of flying is very low I give them the opportunity to cancel. On about 65% of cases I am right three days before, maybe 25% of cases I need to check the night before, about 10% I need to check in the morning and only once I've turned up at an airfield the morning of our flight and had to adjust and fly somewhere different. I can give percentages 3 weeks out, most other instructors I speak to can so I don't know why a professional flying school can't do this? When you have to wait till 9pm every day for two weeks during a summer holiday it really messes with your plans. The icing on the cake was being told once by an instructor at midday that there was ZERO CHANCE of flying tomorrow but the site still said I had to call at 9pm so they know but they just aren't communicating for some reason... As I say, good trainers, good location and good physical setup but some really poor admin that made the whole experience an exercise in patience rather than a fun experience. Response to the owners response.... Thanks Mark - that's not my name. for your review highlighting our great location, facilities and instructors. - you're welcome, it's unfortunate that most paramotor pilots can't access them and aren't responsibly billed. In regards to the weather, we do all we can to give our customers the best possible window of flying time when they book in. - that's just not true. You give people a year to book, you don't select a window, nobody ever worked with me to pick dates like other clubs do. Our CFI has over 40 years experience and knows our sites well along with the local climate variations. - thats interesting because with just 10yrs or so I can predict a lot of weather without having to wait till 9pm. Typically if weather is perfect for a week either side it'll be good on the day. And if there's a tornado coming I can guess we likely won't be flying. Further, I've heard your CFI say we definitely will not be flying tomorrow at midday yet the system wasn't updated till 9pm. Why can schools all over the country do this but you can't? Therefore the standard process is to advise customers at 9.00pm the evening before. If the notifications were varied it would only cause confusion and uncertainty to customers. - no it wouldn't, you can notify customers by text message at any time like you do now and update the phone line like you do now. Again, schools all over the country can
