Heathside care home

I can only review as a staff member, not a customer. I worked here from August 2014 to May 2016. I absolutely loved working in this home, and felt that Heathside was a wonderful home. My colleagues were professional, attentive and supportive to each other. I felt like I was part of a massive family. Unfortunately I left the organisation due to the management company at the time (Anchor), and their practice. I felt staff were often under valued and they were feeling uninspired by the powers above. I have to say though, that there was a long list of families wanting to move their loved ones in to the home, and it was always full occupancy. The quality of care was outstanding, and most staff members were long term, and had been there for a number of years. I moved on to work in another care home that was aesthetically pleasing, but under the surface was below standard in terms of care and the staff turn over was extraordinary. I wish in some ways I had stayed here for longer, although I felt I had done as much as I could in my role. I have now moved to a different job sector, although my fond memories of Heathside will always be with me. I learned a lot from the people I worked with, and the people we looked after.

The staff have been amazing throughout this pandemic. I'm so deeply grateful that my relative was here with them.
