Chello Restaurant & Lounge

They are rip off. The quality is not as you expected . It is too expensive for the food they serve. if you really know the Persian food you would never dine there.

We visited Chello last night for the first time. Its not just a restaurant its a Persian experience, from the moment you walk through the door of this establishment to the time you leave we were bowled over with the extremely hospitable staff, ambience, interesting decor, delicious food and of course the history of the building. Originally a J Sainsbury store the current owner has painstakingly restored the most striking mosaic floor that is around 100 years old. Its just beautiful. The rest of the decor and lighting is interesting and has been carefully thought out to ensure diners are made to feel warm and comfortable. Large selection of drinks available including cocktails and we enjoyed a pre dinner drink at the gorgeous solid wood bar. Staff are more than happy to explain the good sized menu. We had a mixture of starters that were cooked to perfection and were so tasty. Our main meals we opted for a mixture of chicken and lamb kebabs on a layer of traditional warm bread with varied vegetables and of course the famous Persian chelo rice. All food was of an extremely high quality and standard and the best Persian food we have ever tasted. The owners have done an amazing job with this restaurant and such thought has gone into absolutely everything including all the little extra touches. Just loved the coffee liqueur spoons, sugar pots and the inspirational women picture in the ladies toilet. We were truly impressed and cant wait to visit again.

Wonderful food, wonderful hosts, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The rice is absolutely divine. The mashdi bademjan is delicious. The chai is great. Will definitely be coming again to get some local and authentic Persian food. Vegetarian options: Very good vegan and vegetarian options

This is one of the best persian resturants and I would highly recommend them. We took out takeaways couple of times and we were very satisfied.
