Why the 2 stars?
We were not aware/made aware that the local council/charity's were using the hotel to house recovering/current addicts from the York house project. I'm all for charity and helping people in tough situations but the hotel should of made us aware of this.
The following is what I witnessed in my 36 hour stay where I checked out early:
- Police in the lobby every day
-one of the above people being arrested in the lobby
-constant shouting, screaming and banging from a number of rooms.
-Being approached for money by the people staying in the hotel.
- Phone conversations arranging non legal things below my window in the carpark.
-The smell of cannabis in a hall.
-General antisocial behavior in and around the hotel by those mentioned above living at the hotel.
I only give the hotel 2 stars rather than 1 as the staff, location and cleanliness are top notch. We should of just been made aware of the situation or it should be better controlled.
