The River Bed and Breakfast

Vanessa and her partner Max are fantastic hosts! I have stayed several times since a few months at the River Bed and Breakfast when I come to the University. The place is spotless, very cozy, well decorated and very comfortable. You have your own entrance with your own key (which is very convenient), your own bathroom and 2 bedrooms (one with a single bed and one with a 2person bed). Vanessa will bring you your breakfast in the morning (she is very accommodating, asking you at what time you want your breakfast and what you want to eat). The place is also very well located, at 2 min from the bus station and from a Co-op and 5min from the train station. Overall, this is a great B&B and I highly recommend it!!

Vanessa was so welcoming and accommodating and made us feel immediately at home. The annex is a very inviting space and was in pristine condition, not a spot of dust to be seen! The breakfast was amazing; the freshly baked scones were especially good. We would highly recommend The River BnB and would definitely stay there if we're ever in Wivenhoe again.

Asked to take on shoes off on arrival. Had to keep asking for the heating to be turned on every time we came in. On the Sunday we came back in & they were out so had to sit in the cold for two hours. The bed was not made on our 2nd day or wet towels changed. On the plus side the place was very clean & the breakfast was good. For 45 per person per night was not worth it for two people staying.
