I have just picked up my 9 month old cockapoo from The Modern Dog and WOW what an amazing full groom she has had by Richard, she also smells wonderful! The salon is very chilled and quiet and has a nice one to one vibe about it. Richard gave me a few tips on how to comb and brush her too. I am extremely pleased and so glad I found The Modern Dog by recommendation from a friend. Thanks again and see you soon!

Im not one to write a bad review, but I felt like I should on behalf of anyone with a timid dog. I have a young puppy who is extremely nervous and suffers from submissive urination. This is only his third time being at the groomers & his first time being hand stripped. When I asked how he got on I was told that it makes the groomers job so hard (because of how my pup is). I wasnt allowed in the actual shop to collect him incase he weed on the floor again, so I had to stand outside. I was then told of all of the things my pup is afraid of, such as the hairdryer, being washed, having his nails trimmed, which made me feel terrible. It then ended with being told it might be better for me to doit myself. I will not be returning after being made to feel terrible about the situation.

Richard is brilliant and gives a real personal service. The modern dog creates a calming environment and I feel so confident that my cocker poo is being treated with the respect and care all dogs deserve! I have used the Modern Dog 3 times now and wont go anywhere else! Barney returns looking and smelling beautiful and most importantly, happy!! Thank you Richard we will see you in 6 weeks time! Our dog is a little nervous of groomers but we walked past the shop a few times and Richard seemed so friendly we decided to book. Richard does a really lovely job and we have returned several times. Our dog isnt scared of visiting and seems to settle fine. The should is quiet and relaxed which I think helps. We would highly recommend!
