    Although this agency has some very good carers, we have some serious concerns resulting from recent changes in ownership and management. The main area of concern is the new contract between clients and the agency, which has extended the notice period from two weeks to four; this is longer than most local care agencies. The notice period is not, perhaps, so surprising if clients wish to terminate the contract altogether but more concerning is that clients are expected to continue to pay for their care even when they are in temporary respite care or are away on holiday, and even if they have given notice of cancellation. There is no sliding scale for cancellations; charges continue to be made at 100%, no matter how much notice is given. For many clients, this will mean paying for care twice over, once to the respite or holiday provider, and again to Bluebird for care that they do not receive. All care agencies are, of course, businesses but this agency seems to have become very much centred on money rather than fairness. It can be very difficult to change care agency, especially at short notice, so clients who depend upon receiving care for their day-to-day needs are in a vulnerable position and we feel that the current management are taking advantage of this.

I didn't realise until the ladies from Bluebird starting coming in to help mum, how much stress it was causing us as a family. Working for Bluebird Care Cambridge has been challenging at times, but also very rewarding. They are a company that look after their staff as well as their customers. We had a lovely lady come to visit me and find out what I was looking for and this was put in place with great efficiency and professionalism. The care team are very polite and caring and are a great asset to the company. All the information I was given is clear and understandable and I know what I am getting, when I am getting it and what to do if I want to amend anything. It was a very simple process to get my care in place and I know I can call them and they will deal with anything. Everything has been great and I know this is how it will continue.
