Bullying - Serious lack of action from management. Recently pulled my 5 year old from this school and moved elsewhere because she was being bullied, violently by two boys in her class. Their first response was that they would keep an eye out, their second response was to set up a worry box for childen to write (yes, at their age) their concerns down and submit them into a cardboard postbox, as well as give my child confidence lessons to help them report bullying and their third response was to admit they were doing all they could but that it was up to us as parents to decide when enough was enough and remove our child. My child suffered several serious physical injuries, emotional distress and mental abuse, which went largely unpunished despite evidence being provided and other children witnessing the attacks. Since moving we have noticed a dramatic improvement in our childs demeanour, passion for learning and quality of her work again which she had prior to attending Winwick. We were repeatedly told we were the only parents complaining about behaviour, made to feel as if we were the issue and that it would be best if we move on rather than them deal with the source of the problem as it wouldnt be resolved any time soon. Since then, we have discovered many parents in reception had aired their concerns, and several have, or are about to remove their children. From a class of 31, i believe this is now down to 25 or 26 with the violent boys still in attendance. Could not have been more disappointed with managements lack of action and feel robbed of what is meant to be our childs first happy year in school, but lucky that we have been able to find somewhere else which has a no nonsense zero tollerance approach to bullying.
