The house was a pleasant stay with plenty of rooms. The swimming pool was a good size for both swimming and the kids to have a play. The jacuzzi is lovely and hot, unfortunately the sauna wasn't working when we went. We enjoyed the garden as well as the BBQ which wasn't the biggest but did the job. My only gripe was the wi-fi was very slow which when you have a group of 10 kids all trying to get on can be challenging.

The house itself is very welcoming. We were a family of 13 from ages 7 to 75, plus two dogs. There was enough space for everyone. There are 6 bedrooms, 4 of which are en suite. The hosts are often around, tending to the various animals {goats, sheep, chickens, horses} that they've rescued and are good for a chat to find out about local places to visit. The goats are worth a visit, especially if you have some carrots and apples to spare. The highlight of this place for us was the swimming pool. It's very clean and set at a perfect temperature. It's also very deep, even in the shallow end my children couldn't touch the bottom - just something to bear in mind for very small, non-swimmers. Unlike many holiday homes, the kitchen is very well equipped. Plenty of cutlery, plates, bowls, bottle openers (very important) and glasses. The local Tesco {Blandford Forum} does Click and Collect, so we arranged this for our arrival, which worked well. We were unable to use the bbq or firepit, due to the heatwave/dry spell and the possibility of sparking a fire so I cannot comment on this. We had to cook our bbq food in the oven, but it wasn't really a problem. These things happen and it's nobodies fault. We would definitely choose this house again if planning to visit this part of the country.

What a beautiful place. The scenery is so peaceful and a lovely part of the world . Claire who runs Downview farm is down to earth friendly and runs a retreat so if you need to get away to rewind down this is the place to go.. I fully recommend it.
