Stirrups Hotel - The Brasserie

Nice hotel bar and polite, helpful staff. Nice atmosphere too. Food was very tasty. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible with flat flooring, but very difficult to open doors without help for wheelchair users.

Superficially pretty inside and out this is not a place I would recommend. A lunchtime visit took an age to get served even with their 'butler bell' system. It's one of the poorest places for vegan options in the area with only two main dishes on the entire and fairly extensive menu, including light bites and starters. One being a burger (total vegan cop out lacking in any imagination) the other standard vegan fall back - wait for it - a risotto. This time with the promise of 'Sauteed oyster mushrooms' which ended up being one slice of an oyster mushroom, barely touched by heat, and a chimichurri sauce which was scarcely noticeable. All this joy for an extortionate 15.95 and a shocking 2.20 for a lime and soda. Yes, I could have made it better at home.
