Richard Dye purposebuild Carpentry & Joinery

Richard made and fitted solid oak bifold doors to two existing openings in our lounge. Came up with cost effective ideas which other companies we contacted did not suggest - we saved around 40% and got really good quality results. He finished the job 8 years ago and they are as good now as the day he fitted them. They get huge amounts of use every day and slide smoothly and remain aligned. Richard also made a bespoke circular window for us to replace a rotten frame, again was very thorough and good quality. He is not a fast worker, and also I found him strongly opinionated but that did not bother me, so if you want a quick job probably is not for you, but Im much more concerned about the quality. It was great to have a real craftsman on the job who clearly cares a lot for the quality of his own work.

Very Unhelpful I emailed to ask for a quote and ended up speaking on the phone, Richard was very rude, unhelpful and patronising. He spoke to me as if I was stupid. He gave an approximate cost then without me even answering told me it was out of my league and I should get an off the shelf thing that a delivery driver could fit! Not sure why anyone would want to do business with him, I certainly do not.
