Patisserie Valerie - Windsor

It's not often that I leave a poor review, but in this case I feel even one star is too much. I brought friends from abroad to come and sample scones and cake. Store opening times suggested we had just over half an hour to have a quick bite. An incredibly patronising member of staff declared repeatedly that we couldn't sit down and that we could only order cake to go. Even after I asked her about advertised store opening times, she dismissed me an repeated her previous response. For a company that is gradually going under, you'd expect a level of service that would aim to attract customers and not repel them. Needless to say, we visted another establishment (with the exact same opening hours) who valued my custom and was happy to serve us a quick bite.

I bought some cakes, the cakes are so dry and too sweet, no where near the regular standard. Never again!

I just ordered a sandwich and cake by Deliveroo and a quality of the food is just horrible fries old and soggy, sandwich dry and cold , cake extremely dry (deffo not fresh). Never again

Bought two slices of strawberry cake. It was old and stale. Wouldn't recommend this place. Waste of money !

Visited this location recently and instantly felt like a burden to the staff. It was clear that they did not care about us sitting in the restaurant and having a pleasant experience, they wanted to get rid of us as quickly as possible. Everything we asked about seemed to exhaust/annoy the staff. Not a warm, friendly welcome at all unfortunately. Have had really great experiences at other locations but would not bother with the Windsor restaurant again. It was a wasted journey.
