Merecab

Four of us, having just walked the Dales Way, arranged for Carlos of Merecab to take us from Bowness in Windermere back to Ilkley, our start point. Although a 90 minute journey, the time seemed to pass very much more quickly as the ride was comfortable, and we learned an amount of local interesting facts from Carlos. Fantastic service. Carlos took my elderly parents home to Lancaster after a wedding in the Lakes. He was so attentive making sure they were OK and seeing them safely inside the house. He then texted me to let me know they were home safely. Highly recommend this company.

Ive never reviewed a taxi firm before, but my recent experience with Merecab has prompted me to do just that. I cant stress enough how exceptional their service has been. We have been vacationing in the Lakes for the past 6 years but we have never ventured to Bowness in the evening, this year we decided to. I was surprised to find there were loads of taxi firms offering lifts to Bowness, a quick look at Google reviews led me to Merecab. They responded to my email almost immediately and quoted a very reasonable price so I decided to book! The taxi was waiting for us at the holiday park reception and was on time and the driver was very friendly and had no issues finding our location. We booked a return trip for 10pm but we ended up eating far too much at the restaurant and couldnt stay out any longer, a quick call to the taxi firm and our driver came to pick us up early. Yet again, excellent service from our friendly driver and very reasonable prices. I would highly recommend Merecab to anyone staying in the Lake District, theres a reason they have so many good reviews, they are excellent!
