St John's Lodge Guest House (incl off-site Leisure Club)

We booked this very last min & I am so glad we did. Although we are lake lovers, we have never stayed in Windermere itself! I reckon this has ticked all the boxes & May well have become my fave part Its a very compact little village, with quite abit on your doorstep. From the minute we walked through the doors of St Johns Lodge, we were greeted by Rich, who was welcoming & friendly. The perfect host! We sat in the lounge while Rich talked us through the guest information book. Again, so much useful info, it clearly shows the passion you have for this place & I dont think I have ever read a guest info book word for word, its very thorough & very well written The lodge was beautifully decorated throughout & very clean. You can tell that a lot of thought & attention to detail has gone into this wonderful & stunning property. The Langsdale our room) was just perfect & so cosy! We got a very homely feel. The bed was so comfy. We slept well considering we were over looking the main road. It had everything you could ask for, inc a mini fridge, that was even stocked up with fresh milk (extra milk guy next time for Zaid, please ) The room was spacious, with lots of natural light coming through the 2 windows & the views were simply amazing to wake up to. The en-suite was a good size too, again very spacious, with a huge skylight ! The decor was very cute & inspiring, even in the lounge area downstairs, its full of character & quirky bits all over ! The honesty bar is such a great idea & so lovely to see. Breakfast is inc in the price & was served with smiles all round & cooked really well. Really Spoilt for choice! Very attentive hosts!! A Small, but a cute garden to the side of the property. Just Over the road is an easy walk sheriffs walk that takes around 40 mins, through woodlands, forests & streams to small waterfalls A 10-15 min walk up the road, youre in the heart of the village, where again youre spoilt for choice whether its an Italian, Indian, Chinese or Mediterranean restaurant its all just a short walk away with some lovely boutiques for those that like to shop We will definitely be back, hopefully soon. I had a lovely stay at St John's lodge. Its in a great location within walking distance to Windermere and Bowness. The staff are so welcoming and it is very clean. I loved my room, it was larger than most hotel rooms, with a comfy bed, mini fridge and large flat screen tv. The breakfast choice is great. My breakfast was delicious and cooked fresh on arrival. This place is a gem in Windermere! I will be booking again soon.

We have never stayed in such a well presented, affordable rates with everything you could wish for. Polite friendly proprietors. Breakfast was the best weve had and the choice excellent something for ever taste. Only stayed one night unfortunately but will definitely be back. Absolutely superb cannot fault it.
