Storrs Gate House

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Storrs Gatehouse. Susann and Glen were the perfect hosts. Not only were they super friendly, but they also had plenty of great recommendations for things/places to do and see. The location is great as you're just a short walk into the village for any activities but also removed a bit so you can enjoy the quietness of lake life. Our room was absolutely beautiful and we highly recommend the full English breakfast prepared by Glen. We hope to come back some day!

Rooms: Rooms are nice, and clean. Daily room service offered. Clean towels and sheets and even a blanket for extra comfort. Just noticed some black mould in the bathroom which could have done with some cillit bang, but nothing too noteworthy. The power shower was incredibly powerful! Best shower ever! Walkability: Very close to the marina, and within walking distance of about 15mins to all local amenities Food & drinks: Great breakfast choices, which tasted great and all from from locally sourced locations Noteworthy details: Very friendly staff able to offer advice for your trip and directions. Cosy, homely feel to the lodge.

Suzanne was so lovely with a warm welcome nothing was too much trouble throughout our overnight stay. Having stayed in previous years. I love the new finishing touches making it a beautiful home from home feel with charm and character. Impeccably clean through out. The breakfast room is so pretty and the 2 girls that help are very friendly and super swift with service . Overall a lovely stay and thanks Suzanne for the offer to park on the Sunday after we checked out. Vivienne & David x

I am reluctant to leave a review, as I don't want everyone to know about it, I just want to keep this fantastic place all to ourselves, it is not surprising that it is so popular. There is lots of accomodation available in Bowness, but none as good as this, a real home from home. Beautiful bedrooms, spotlessly clean and breakfast as good as it gets. Susan and Glenn are excellent hosts,with polite helpful staff. Loking forward to our next visit. Phillip and Judith
