        My girlfriend and I stayed here recently and really enjoyed ourselves. The owner Frank (and, of course, Portia the dog) are very welcoming and friendly, the location in the centre of Windermere is ideal and the room was clean and comfortable. Why the 3* review then? Well, I'm a bit surprised by all the 5* reviews! The whole place is a bit dated and could do with a bit of love. There was no cooked breakfast which I would have expected at a B&B. And the fact that we were gluten-free caused a bit of confusion! I'm not saying don't stay here - more that it's worth knowing what to expect!
