A delightful friendly place to shop. A little gem in the heart of Winchmore Hill and no more expensive then buying online or from a big superstore. Highly recommend for all the high end paints

So lovely to have input from people who know what they are talking about. The ladies here are knowledgeable and professional This beats going to a hardware store to have some disinterested young person serve you. Great range of heritage paints, specialist paints and wall paper available.

Had enough of part time service! I have used House for over 5 years. The only issue I have is when they decide to pop out of the shop and put a post-it saying "popped out, back in 1 hour". They has happened at least 4-5 times in my experience over different times during the day. Today, one of the assistants called me to say my paint was ready for collection. I replied that I would come in the next hour or so. So I went over to pick up my paint ( about 1 hour and a quarter later to be exact ). Guess what?.....There's a bloody post-it saying "back at 3:10". Extremely poor poor service, especially when this individual knew I was coming to pick up the paint. I arrived at 2:30, so clearly I'm not going to hang around for 40 minutes. Time & time again they think its acceptable to pop out for while leaving the shop closed. This isn't even lunchtimes, so I'm not being unreasonable. They wont get my custom again.

I unfortunately had quite a terrible experience with this shop. There were a couple of redeeming factors but overall the experience was very poor. I ran out of Little Greene paint for a job I was doing, and this shop was open at the time. The original paint which I purchased was pre-mixed by Little Greene and I purchased it from a different shop. The colour of the original paint matched exactly to the colour swab. When I contacted The House to purchase another tin of this paint (Juniper Ash), they informed me that it would be mixed on site and that the colour would match very close, if not exactly, to the pre-mixed tin. Great. However, as you can see in the attached picture, this was definitely not the case. There is a very noticable difference between the pre-mixed tin and the one purchased from The House. The owner was very friendly, and came the next day to inspect. She took the original tin of paint, plus the tin of paint I purchased from them in order to analyse and send off to Little Greene. However, this did not happen. I had to chase the owner and her colleague over 5 times, over a period of 3 months, leaving me unable to finish the job I started. Whilst the owner was nice, there were many false promises. In the end she did not even send the paint off to Little Greene to analyse because she was "so busy" (quote from the owner) and forgot! It was a complete waste of time. In future I will be shopping elsewhere. What a shame.
