Our stay at Two Bare Feet absolutely exceeded our expectations. The accomodation is just so thoughtfully curated for guests - there was simply nothing lacking whatsoever. Silly little bonus for me - out of the five various stays we had on this trip to the UK, Two Bare Feet was the only one to provide both facecloths and robes. Absolutely loved those touches. Light, comfortable, and the perfect location in Winchester. Could simply not recommend more highly, and Two Bare Feet now sets the standard for all of our self catering accommodations going forward. Thank you!

The hotel is nice. I have no complaints there. However, the service was not great. It was my wedding day and we booked 2 rooms so 2/3 of the house for 2 nights. My bridemaids and I used the common area (the kitchen) to get ready in the morning from 9am to 1pm because the light was better than in the rooms. During the preparations, everyone was happy, cheerful and excited. This was until the host spoiled the moment for us. She called 2 times to let us know that we couldn't use the common area to get ready, in an aggressive, overbearing and dramatic tone. She accused us of killing her business. If the guests in the 3rd room had made a complaint to the management of the property, we would have been more than happy to move. The morning guests were two delightful ladies from Newcastle and Scotland who wished me a wonderful day and congratulated me in the most lovely way. The other guests were from Stuttgart and arrived to check in earlier than the check-in time which was 3pm, only to drop their bags off. It was two friends who we also had a chat with and again they congratulated me and wished me all the best, which was really touching. These were normal reactions when presented with a wedding day situation; the over the top reaction of the host, completely killed the mood of the morning and added a huge amount of stress to what was an already stressful day. She asked me why I had not booked the whole place: I have never been to this place before so I didn't know it was a possibility, otherwise of course it would have made sense to do that. Also, it's quite easy to say that on the day where I cannot rectify the situation. The second time she phoned, I was quite apprehensive, so my bridemaid kindly answered instead and she proceeded to hold her on the phone for almost 15 minutes while the make-up artist was trying to get her ready. We could have finished even earlier if she hadn't, stressed us out like this. Lastly, I want to apologise here to the cleaning lady who has been put in the middle of this situation on her birthday. We promised her that she wouldn't get in trouble and made sure that we would leave the place spotless, which we did. The next day, the cleaning lady told me that despite the stressful start of the day, she had a nice birthday which I was glad to hear. We had a truly amazing day as well, but if I had to do it again, I would probably choose a different hotel where we would have felt more welcomed as guests. My approach to solving the situation on the day, would have been for the owner to say that there are other guests arriving earlier than the check-in time (3pm) and they might want to use the communal area and to please make sure that the area is vacated and clean before they were due to arrive. This would have completely diffused the situation; instead, she took the path of escalation and accused us of ruining her business. As it turned out, we were actually tidying the kitchen up when the guests arrived anyway. The whole situation was completely unnecessary. There are more professional ways to conduct a business and deal with situations of dispute that could have been applied on Sunday morning.
