Gorgeous space but the card donation I made only came out of my account two weeks later and I don't recognise the name of the organisation taking out the donation. [I've just worked out the acronym so I think it's legit.]

The Church of St Lawrence in Winchester is a medieval church thought to have Norman origins. Located just off the High Street at the narrow end of the Square, the church is easy to miss, completely surrounded by modern shops and cafes. The church is said to be on the site of William the Conqueror's palace chapel, built in 1069 and destroyed in 1141. The church comprises an undivided nave and chancel, small atrium and 15th century bell tower. It is fairly plain in decoration, the most striking features being the roof timbers and carved wooden panelling along the nave walls. In places, the timber panelling bears war memorial inscriptions.
