TALL HATS CATERING I can only say we had the worst experience possible with this company. We hired them to supply canopes on my 70 th birthday to 100 guests. They were paid 900 for 700 canaps an average of 7 canaps for each guest. The canaps were to be served to guests throughout the evening. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. There were only 100 guests including staff at the party. The venue holds 160 so wasn't over filled. In the days after the party it became clear that some guests had not been offered food or indeed where unaware there was any food being served. I investigated and discovered that 26 guests received no food at all during the evening and were unaware there was any food being handed round. A few lucky guests did have one or 2 and remarked that they wish they could have had a few more although they said the quality wasn't great. It was extremely embarrassing for me, as the host, having to apologies to everyone after the party. What made it worse was the attitude of the women at TALL HATS CATERING who messed up ( LYNNE). When I asked her what had gone wrong she simply got very unpleasant and slammed the phone down. Unfortunately I had no idea what had happened as I was playing in my band most of the evening. She did admit she should have kept an eye on the girls on the night but failed to do so. But she then went on to blame everyone she could for not serving the food. The company refused point blank to acknowledge any wrong doing.She simply denied any of what we told her happened. I offered her guests phone numbers and names for her to contact these guests as confirmation but she simply did not want to know. COMPLETE DENIAL. I think that TALL HATS CATERING realised it was not possible for me to keep an eye on them on the night and simply ripped us off. Believe it or not, blissfully unaware of their failings, I handed them a cash tip. They later said that they will send this back. I gave them the name of a charity I support (The Rainbow Centre )and told them to send on there. Needless to say they FAILED TO DO THAT AS WELL. I can honestly say in the 47 years of being in business myself and employing many staff and dealing with thousands of customers this is the worst company I have ever come up against. Please be warned by our miserable experience. They ruined my 70 th Birthday celebration. CHRIS PORTER
