I was employed by pavemac via a agency 1st week alarm bells started ringing as staff frightened of the owner john a strange man that rules like a Victorian ie no radio no talking 15 minutes to the second for a break honestly in 30 years plus I've never worked in a more oppressive environment there are some top people who work there but the production manager is a dodgy south African who knows nothing and spends his time blaming his inadequacies on others ie me the whipping boy also a ex army fitter who has a massive chip on her shoulders who spent her time giggling at managers and anyone who's paygrade was higher but knew surprisingly little also spent time hammering bearings on unprepared shafts swearing then wondering why things didn't fit this made me laugh but this was the caliber of some workers there I was sacked after a month because these and other backstabbers felt threatened by my knowledge . In the month I worked there was always first to work bench only late once 8 minutes because of a serious crash I was still told off Thought I'd post this as a warning to any genuine old school fitter who is thinking of working there
