With my shoulder issue after imaging and investigation surgery was an option and he advised to avoid it and try physio first. Im glad i did as I'm 90% there without going under the knife.
For other sporting injuries I have been referred to his colleagues and and they are nothing short of world-class in their communication, treatment and advice.
