I wanted a 'handyman' service to help with some small but important jobs that were beyond my limited skills. Precisely the sort of jobs it's often hard to get people to come and do. I sent a request via the company's website and was delighted when, as promised, I got a call back the following day. I was even more delighted when two workmen arrived later that afternoon to put up a wall unit for me. One returned early the next morning to carry out the other task. I think I was lucky in terms of the timing of my request as the guys had a window before their next jobs. Nevertheless, what was impressive was that I got a swift reply; they came when they said they would; and did a great job for a fair price.

We had some very sorry-looking and damaged crazy paving following some essential drain work. Northstowe Home Services have transformed the area by laying a new sandstone patio and path. We are delighted at the end result. The whole team are professional and polite, and came back to do a thorough tidy up too. We would definitely use them again for other jobs, and have no hesitation in recommending them. Thanks Guys!

Came to Northstowe Home Services with a job that needed a quick-turnaround, and they were able to landscape and finish my front garden within 3 days notice to a high standard. Looks great, super happy with the finish, and the team are friendly and professional (while giving great advice). Would happily come back to them for any future jobs.

I have used Northstowe Home Services a couple of times and have had numerous issues each time. The main issues revolve around not being responsive or not what I consider professional. The first issue we had with them was when we asked for them to put a few things up on our walls. When putting one of the pictures up, the person went through a pipe in our wall. This caused water damage to the wall and was very stressful with being a first time home owner. I must say that luckily, the person who was doing the job for us had a plumber in their house, doing work for them that day and called them over straight away. We had another person come over later down the line to complete the job who did actually say that it was an amateur mistake. Another time we used them, was to put some bathroom accessories up. The person who came to complete the job could only do half of it due to not having the right screws/tools. They left and said they would return later that afternoon with the right tools to complete it. Unfortunately that never happened, they actually returned a week or so later at random without contacting us. We had already someone else finish the job during that time. The person actually questioned me about who had finished the job off, and seemed quite annoyed by that fact. I assumed they was not going to return due to lack of communication. The most recent issue occurred in the last month or so. We had requested to have them create a base to have our shed moved to a different location and also to have some Herringbone style laminate flooring laid. They had booked us in to have the job done at the end of July, with it only going ahead once we had confirmed a quote with them. They sent someone over to give us a quote who took photos of the flooring and the room and said they would have the quote with us within the next week. We did not receive a quote so I chased them up. It took a number of days for me to get a response from them. When I eventually got a response, I was surprised with what I received. They had said that the person who visited reported that our flooring was already half completed by someone else and that they are not happy with finishing work that someone else has already started. This was not the case, we had no flooring whatsoever in our room. The only thing that was done, was the carpet was removed ready for work. I clarified this to them and then received a response that they will send someone over to have another look, they also stated that herringbone floor is difficult to do and would come at a higher price point. I went back to them to arrange a day that would work for us for another visit and I am still awaiting a response from them now, bearing in mind we are supposed to be booked in for the end of July which is less than a week away now. We have decided that we cannot give them anymore chances, which is disappointing as photos of their work actually looks very good, which is why we have kept trying to use them. It is a shame that they lack organization to respond in a timely manner, it makes their service feel less professional and trustworthy. I would rather wait to find someone who is well organized, professional and trustworthy. Will not be using again Im afraid.
