Not impressed with torque (the pace he was working) or this agency. My boyfriend had his first day today, he got 2 hours into the day and was then chosen for a random spot check, which I understand. He had his phone in his pocket, TURNED OFF, as he had seen the signs that said phones must be off. They then told him he has to leave the premises and that he had a disciplinary due to having his phone in his pocket. He was not told at any point that he wasnt allowed his phone on his person. He got showed around the premises, didnt get shown fire exits or told any safety procedures. He didnt get allocated a locker to leave his belongings in, so assumed he could have his phone in his pocket as he didnt want to leave it lying around. He has been out of work for a few months now due to an injury, and has now been discouraged due to how he has been treated by the staff. This company needs to make sure they explain all procedures and rules to all new employees to ensure no one else has to go through this. He was treated unfairly after making a genuine mistake and working hard for the few hours he was there. He then rang the agency to see if they could help him in this situation, they told him there was nothing they could do and that he was in the wrong. Said it was his own fault when no one explained the rules clearly to him. Very rude and dismissive on the phone to him. Will not be using or recommending this recruitment agency ever again.
