If I was really ill, to the point of life or death, I wouldn't want to go here again! Understandably, the Dr's and nurses are extremely busy, but pre-covid time, was left in a room in A&E with suspected meningitis for what seemed a life time. I had fluid filling up in my ears, my brain felt like it was about to explode, yet all I could hear was loud beeping of machines. Was not offered a glass of water or any food, must of been coming up to the 24 hour mark. I had to cover myself with my coat. I was too ill to ask for a blanket! But usually you get one anyway! I was on a hard bed. The type you see in the doctors! I got an apology after 24 hours off the Hospital Manager. Asked if I wanted any food and a cup of tea. Being on a drip for all that time as well! A junior Dr came in and basically shoved a ear thing in my ear only to say 'you have a lot of fluid in your ears'! This was excruciatingly painful! Honestly, if I could have walked out or got in a taxi I would have done. The worst hospital, terrible food. Once on a ward, lovely nurses. But had a drug addict trying to nick my bag from my room! I was at the end in a room of my own. She was in because they couldn't discharge her because she had no where to live! People where having things stolen, especially the older ones! Also had some weird guy constantly complaining to me about what was wrong with him! I should have been safeguarded by the staff! I know they're over worked. But as an extremely ill patient, I wasn't in any fit state to say or do anything about these people, 'popping' into the side room I was in! Parking spaces are hard to find, it's pay and display. Taxis are available outside. Entrances can be quite confusing if never been before. It's very 'maze' like. Does serve food in a small cafe. Wheelchair accessible obviously.
