Westwood Lodge Care Home

My grandad at 95 years old and very well for his age went into Westwood Lodge "care home.he deteriorated rapidly once in there to be fair. He had bad cuts on his ears and chin where they had ttried to shave him. His hearing aids were missing and his bed when visiting was always soiled and un clean. Totally unacceptable and inhumane to treat a 95 year old man this way...... he then got COVID from the care home and despite 1000s of pounds per month paying for the care he never got, out family never got one card, phone call or anything from them.... absolutely disgusting so

Care for the residents is amazing and I have the pleasure of working with some fantastic carers and nursing staff. Beautiful home. Very clean and food quality of products used is really good. Everyone takes pride in their work and the residents are happy and thrive since coming to Westwood Lodge. Acute nurse practioners and dr available on hand to deal with medical problems daily and regular entertainment and activities to promote well being and have meaningful purpose. The activity co-ordinators i have seen provide 1-1 time allowing resident to express themselves and give meaning to their day. The staffs response to a situations in a variety of aspects is quite remarkable.

Mum and Dad recently moved into Westwood Lodge and we could not have wished for a better place for them. They have separate bedrooms but staff make time each day to ensure they spend time together during the daytime. Home is spotless, rooms well appointed, food is excellent with plenty hot and cold drinks available throughout the day, laundry is done on site and staff ensure they wear fresh clean clothing daily. Plenty activities in the home each week, to be honest its just fantastic everyone is happy, staff are amazing, Lorraine the manager is always around for support or answering questions and acting on any requests you make. Id recommend Westwood Lodge to anyone who like mum and dad have reached that time when they needed daily caring and nursing.
