Had my car in for a free brake check. Correctly confirmed that the front pads/discs were worn but said couldn't check the rear cause they are in a drum. Didn't remove rear wheels/drums to fully check, so only partially checked my brakes overall. Had the rear been inadequate, this would have been a false reassurance.

For years I used to go to this place, but one Friday I turned up at this garage and there wasnt any cars in the garage. I had a puncture on one of my tyres. One of the lads was about to book it in and repair it there and then, because they were quiet, but then the manager intervened and said they have a new booking system and the earliest they could fit me into their then empty garage wasnt until the following Monday, which, considering I had a puncture I did not find acceptable. National have lost me as a customer which is a shame because most of the staff are really good and helpful.

Avoid wheel alingment in this place. They did in my car a very bad wheel alignment adjustment. The new tires wore out completely in half a year.

Booked my car in for tracking and got told they couldn't do it as the track rod ends were both seized and would need the gas bottles on them to warm them up which they didn't have at the time. I had replaced the O/S track rod arm and end the weekend before so that one wasn't seized. So I took it home and got a spanner on the nut, that came right off with bearly any effort and the arm started turning with no effort whatsoever. Spoke to Halfords and got a full refund. Either they don't know what they are doing or they are trying to rip people off but I ain't going back to find out. I Definitely wouldn't trust them with oxy acetylene anyway I'd have no car left
