My family have been with this surgery for over 12 years! And i couldn't imagine ever leaving, We usually see Dr Jepson, and he is a wonderful Doctor, a rare physician that actually listens to you and wants to help, a good old fashion family doctor and a real credit to the platt bridge surgery!

This is the second time I've had an issue with the practice. First time was when I put an referral to see a miscarriage specialist at Royal Bolton Hospital to Dr Jepson. Which after so many weeks I phoned up to be told it had been put on hold by one of the admin. She had took it under her own control after I phoned maybe 2 weeks after referral and stated I wanted to book in for a 1st midwife appointment as I just found out I was pregnant. Based on that information and without telling me she had put my referral on hold. By the time I had phoned to book in with midwife, my referral should have been completed. Bare in mind regardless of pregnant or not at this point I already had lost my baby at 21 weeks (Toby) and had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks. That miscarriage specialist I wanted, was to eventually become my consultant through any up coming/current pregnancies. I never made it to my 1st midwife appointment as I also had another early miscarriage at 6 weeks.I only managed to see the miscarriage specialist after the miscarriage. When I complained to Janet Ingram she quickly got things moving and referred me the same day I complained. However if it was done 2 weeks prior I would have seen miscarriage specialist sooner. Now today 20th March I went in and asked for a pen and paper so I could write down my repeat prescription, and to detail personal information that I needed to have levothyroxine 50mcg aswell due to high thyroid antibodies which has links to miscarriage. The information to have levothyroxine as a repeat prescription,is detailed in letters by both miscarriage specialist at Leigh Early pregnancy unit dr Khanna and endocrinologist Dr Kumar at Wigan. Instead of writing this down. The receptionist insisted to type it on her computer (which she had delays doing) and so was I forced to explain my personal information quite loudly(she hardly heard through panel) in front of the people waiting. Due to this happening and in order to make a review.I've had to detail To the public in order to understand what you are getting into when you take on dr Xavier practice in Platt bridge. I'm deeply angry and appaulled.I even stated to receptionist on 2 occasions it be easier to write it down and put in prescription box as it has personal information I need to include.Even at the end after I explained everything about my levothyroxine. I said "this is exactly why I just wanted a piece of paper so I don't have to announce to the entire reception and waiting room my personal information."She just looked at me clueless and just said prescription should be ready for tomorrow. No apology no nothing. All I wanted was a pen and paper!so I could write personal information making levothyroxine a repeat prescription and was detail in letters from 2 Drs sent to the practice.I was told by both Drs there shouldn't be an issue getting levothyroxine as a repeat prescription as they will send a letter to my practice.I know they've received letters,I've got copies.I think I'll be moving practices very soon...
