Steve has repaired both my own and friends frames, as well as updating older frames, to future-proof them. I have referred clients to him with confidence, that His work and expertise is second to none, so when I need expertise, I go to steve as one of less than a handful of best frame-builders in the country!

I've typed my problem to Mr. Goff. He advised me about the type of welding appropriate to repair my bicycle. When I went typed back explaining the type of bicycle I have and the repair and painting service that I needed, he did not answer me. I suppose that Mr. Goff only has good manners with clients who demand very expensive services because this happened two days ago and I am still waiting for his answer. On their website you can see a photographs of profesional cyclist with his bicycles, I wonder if when they call him from a national team he also ignores them like he did with me.

So on Sat 21st May, I had both kids whilst my wife went down to Wolverhampton with my daughter to clear out her Uni room after graduating. I knew it would be a stressful day and was going to take them both Coronation Park on there bikes to wear them out. Lucas tyres needed inflating, and I could only inflate one successfully at the garage. The other had a wonky inflation valve that I couldnt connect to. I googled Bike shops and found Steve Goff on Google maps just 5 mins drive from my house. I eventually got there and saw he wasnt a retail store, but a racing frame specialist based out of an industrial unit. However, after a brief chat he lent me a pump - but again it wouldnt attach with the inflation valve not protruding out far enough at its bent angle. Then what I thought was a staff member came out from inside to help. I never caught his name, but he was tall with long hair and long fingers! His missus was inside talking to Steve. This Good Samaritan (upon realising my tyre problem) then did what was needed. He loosened the tyre off and adjusted the inner tube so the valve was in the correct position. He then pumped it up fully and put the tyre back on.the bike was fixed!! His hands were oily and I wanted to pay him for his help, but I had no money on me and he couldnt take card payment. I dont think he would of took payment anywaybut he couldnt take card payment as this guy was just a customer! As I got into the car, I felt a sense of relief that my son wouldnt have to spectate as his baby sister rode her working bike around the park. What a good deed from this long fingered stranger I thought! My son was made up riding his bike round Ormskirk park and it was all down to that guy who went out of his way to help me. What was his name Steve? Who was that good apple who fixed my sons bike? I thank him and was so grateful for his help, especially on that particular day of strife.

Steve is a really talented frambuilder. The job he does and the standard of finish is superb. What was not so good in my experience is he built up a bike from a set of components I had supplied to a frame he had built. He must have knocked the seatpost in with a hammer (he did not bother to ream the seat tube after build) and I had to destroy the seatpost getting it back out. He fitted a front cantilever brake leaving a frayed cable (even though all parts were brand new). Excellent frame builder. I would buy another one of his frames. I would not recommend Steve for assembling a bike. This could have been a one off, and it looks like he built the bike in a massive hurry. Such a shame as Framebuilding is the really skilled part and there are plenty of people who can put a bike together because that part is easy.
