Trying to get an appointment in nearly impossible. I've just spent an hour listening to engaged tones and then being in a queue from position 10. When I did get through I was told that there are no more appointments left for the day. I said an appointment tomorrow or later in the week would be OK, only to be told that you can't pre- book an appointment and need to join the queue again tomorrow!!! It's a lottery at best. How am I ever going to get to see a doctor??? Receptionist told me to try the walk-in centre (in the normal dismissive doctor's Receptionist tone!!). Service is poor at best.

Have been at this practice for nearly 20 years. And I am so disappointed by how the service is now running. Took me nearly an hour to get through to try and get an appointment; I was then spoken to rudely by the lady on the phone. As there was no appointments available , I then queued the next day outside the practice (not everyone can do this). When I finally got my telephone appointment, the GP showed no empathy at all, and was clearly in a rush. Such a shame as used to be a really good practice.

On two separate occasions, the receptionist has gone out of her way to accommodate the needs of my wife and myself even when no appointments have been available. Not only that, but this has been done in a friendly, polite and genuinely caring manner. NHS resources, staff and facilities are very stretched, but I have been very impressed with the service provided here nevertheless. First class, and if you read this, thank you.

UPDATE This medical centre is very good and i would recommend this. With a national GP shortage, the staff here do their best for new appointments even though it's very difficult get one. When you have gone through triage and have a consult with one of their doctors, they are thorough, friendly and understanding. You don't feel rushed despite their backlog. Very grateful to have them and the chemist together as I've 2 conditions requiring a lot of their time on a regular basis.
