For somebody getting married, picking bridesmaids dresses with your favourite girls should be a wonderful experience. If that's what you're looking for ladies, DO NOT grace this shop with your presence. The man who worked in the shop was unhelpful, mistrusting, rude and obviously had no idea about customer service. He stood ridiculously close to us the entire time we were trying on dresses and at one point, moved round to the entrance of the changing room that my friend was getting dressed in, and stood so that he could see INTO the changing room!! He could not have been more obviously mistrusting if he had tried. When eventually we decided to think about sizes and colours of the dress we liked, he could not have been ruder. He made it very clear that he wouldn't help us at all. We were NOT allowed to see a sizing chart until we had paid for the dresses IN FULL, even though one bridesmaid wasn't even here to try dresses on. After we had paid, sizing was completely up to us, and even though all sizes weren't in the shop to physically try on, it was 'on our heads' if we ordered the wrong size! There was nothing we could do. He then launched into a long speech about how he has girls in the shop all the time with no intention to buy and messing him around. How he has people trying to take photographs of dresses and half the time the girls aren't even getting married. Basically, if we want to buy, it's up to us and we have to suffer the consequences if we get it wrong. It's at that point that I left the shop, fuming. The dresses may be cheap, but it's still 400. I decided that I would much rather give my money over to somebody else who wanted to help us and had a vague idea about how to treat customers ie. NOT like they are potential criminals who are attempting to waste his precious time. The fact that on a Saturday afternoon there was not one other customer in there is possibly testament to the blatant bad attitude exhibited by the one person who is supposed to be helping to make your special day, special. If a special day is what you want, trust me, don't go to Special Daze. Additional - In response to Colin's post, I DID have an appointment that was made a month before. I was advised by Colin to call the day before the appointment to make sure the shop was actually going to be open, as there was an illness in the family, which I did. My friend was travelling up from Surrey especially, so I made sure the appointment was booked and that the shop would be open. Also, there WAS a female advisor there to help us - they weren't all upstairs dealing with brides. Also, they DIDN'T have all the sizes in - we needed a 24 and a 26 for one of my BMs and it wasn't available to try on. Again, Colin's attitude was disgusting and this is absolutely apparent by the lies he has posted regarding my review. If he has CCTV footage, I'd like to see it, because he blatantly tried to look inside the changing room. I haven't been contacted by any lawyers, but if this CCTV footage actually exists, I might be tempted to go to a lawyer myself!! Absolute lies.
