Phil was always super-responsive, patient when I needed time to make decisions and he had lots of thoughtful suggestions and options for the design and functionality of the tour (the bespoke user-interface is clear and easy to understand). The Folly is a difficult and unusual site and not at all easy to access and Phil went the extra-mile to capture everything perfectly. All the panoramas are fantastic quality (I tried projecting them up to 3m and they still look amazing) with excellent detail and colour balance. The Arts Council was delighted with the results.

Pan 3Sixty are always so easy to work with, and are always suggesting improvements and brand new interfaces to meet our needs. The process of photographing the campus is made simple by Pan 3Sixty, who made lots of suggestions to ensure we got the very best out of our facilities. The process is non-disruptive during the shoot, and Phil is very detail-driven and ensures the best possible photography on the day.

Jane Austen's House on Google
Jane Austens House is a small, rural site with a huge international audience but for geographical reasons many of our potential visitors will never make it here in person. In 2020, with the UK in full lockdown, this was truer than ever. With the Museum closed, and due to re-open with a very restricted capacity, we knew we needed to up our game with online tools to keep our audiences engaged. More than that we wanted to transport our audiences to Chawton, Jane Austens last home and the cradle of her genius, to escape the challenging and scary world we were living in for a while. The virtual tour was the perfect solution, enabling our audiences to explore the House freely or to follow a prescribed route, to dive into favourite corners and to linger on specific objects.
One issue we had was with the first panorama showing the village street, complete with traffic and builders, a photo that didnt reflect Chawtons usual tranquillity, or offer an online visitor a natural gateway into the past. Working with Phil at Pan 3Sixty, we came up with the idea of using specially commissioned illustrations of Jane Austens characters to populate this panorama and to bring it to life in a magical, imaginative way. A huge boon of this innovation is that the first page of the tour is now an unusual and enchanting image in its own right, sparking the imagination and reminding visitors that it is Jane Austens work and her characters that make this house so special.
The virtual tour was warmly received by the global Austen community, and it has been incredibly popular ever since, with over 25,000 visits in the first 3 months, and countless positive comments on social media.
Now that we have the virtual tour, it is opening up the visitor experience in ways that we had not anticipated. For example, we are now offering live, guided tours of the virtual tour which are proving incredibly popular and effective!
As we go forward, we also look forward to sharing the virtual tour with on-site visitors who for mobility reasons cannot visit the first floor of the House.
All in all, creating our virtual tour with Pan 3Sixty was a great experience and we are delighted with the finished product. Phil was great to work with, he clearly cares deeply about the quality of his work and knows what hes doing. He was clear and helpful throughout, working through every detail with great care, to make sure everything was right. We wouldnt hesitate to recommend working with him!
