What a wonderful Society this is, I have been a member for almost 40 years and have learned so much about alpine and other plants in that time. The Centre at Pershore is friendly and welcoming and the garden shows off many different habitats in which these plants can be grown, scree, tufa, raised beds, troughs, woodland and the most recent addition is a Mediterranean bed. The AGS Shows around the country are a showcase for the most stunningly grown specimens and the accompanying specialist nurseries allow you to buy plants for yourself. Tours are organised for all over the world the see these wonderful plants growing in their natural habitat. A high quality Journal is produced quarterly which is packed full of useful information and accompanied by superb photographs. Why not investigate what else goes on in this great Society, visit the website alpinegardensociety.net.

A great charity doing really important conservation work. Staff and members always ready to offer help and advice, either in person or via their website/social media. Garden is well worth a visit too!

I find this plant charity so inspiring for learning about small plants. As a long standing member I have benefited from a joining a local group, attending shows, the annual seed exchange, zoom talks, a quality journal, volunteering opportunities and meeting other members and much more. Highly recommend you join.

"HQ" of the society/charity that does great work in promoting small plants for gardens and alpine displays, gives a bursary to a student each year and contributes to conservation at Mardale Valley reservoir. The garden & offices can be visited free for advice, help and to see the plants growing in the wonderful garden.
