It started out well, James called round to quote, it wasnt cheap at 1920.00 but he was polite and friendly and seemed hassle free so we decided to book James to do our removal.
I showed James all round our house and made a point of making sure he viewed in our loft and our garage as I knew we had a lot of stored items there that were moving with us.
His lads turned up on time and packed everything up in boxes for us very quickly.
Delivery to our new house in Scotland went fine, or at least I thought it did until we realised nothing from our loft had been delivered. I enquired with James as to when hes delivering everything in the loft, and to our utter shock he said, you didnt say to include the loft thats why weve not brought anything from the loft.
Janes was the only quote I got to do our removal. When James was viewing our house to price up the removal, I was stood with him at all times, I lowered the loft ladder for james, I turned the loft light on, James then commented he shouldnt really be climbing ladders as hes going in hospital next week for a heart operation, he then climbed up to the top of our loft ladders,, had a quick look around without actually fully going into the loft, instead staying at the top of our ladders, then James turned the loft light off, came back down our ladders and myself and James continued to look round our house. I was stood with james the whole time he priced our removal. So, you can imagine our shock and surprise when after the removal had taken place James says you didnt show me or mention the loft.
We werent there at the removal address when it happened as wed already moved to Scotland, James then completely blamed my 75 year old father who simply let the removal men into the house for the loft error. It beggars belief.
James refunded me a measly 120 for his error but to this day will not apologise. He caused us a huge amount of hassle and expensive which well exceeded the 120 he refunded as there were two and half car loads of items in the loft that we had to move ourselves 288 miles to our new home that wed already paid James westerman removals to do so.
We also found a box full of items that theyd left behind in our garage which again theyd been paid to remove. There were a lot of items we paid james extra to pack up into boxes that were broken when we unpacked them at our next house. Little care was included, just rush rush rush get the job done.
My parents in law are this month moving from Rawtenstall to nearby us in Scotland and they certainly wont be using James westerman for their removal.
