Always very helpful for me , been a customer for 33 years , and sometimes there is a que when you go in but they do thier best and always apolagise for the wait you have had , if i had a problem would have moved my cutom by now , remember they are human like us not robots , keep up the good work xxx

Possibly the worst building society and estate agents in the UK. The service is terrible, unorganised chaos. It never was like this until they merged. The estate agents is not local anymore its all based at Carlisle call centre, you can not walk into the branch and get any information on any property as it just doesn't exist. The prices advertised for selling your house come with hidden costs that you are un aware of until you try and list your house with them, wasting everyones time. Their interest rates are higher than many other lenders and there seems to be more hoops to jump through than other mortgage lenders. This is a company that seems to have cost cutting, profit boosting at the heart of their business as they are far too bothered about boosting profits rather than providing high quality care to their customers. I will be using one of the several other agents on the high street where i can walk in and talk to someone face to face. The building society thankfully is still on the high street however it now has houses listed on all its walls its almost like wallpaper. I took a business account out several years ago stating it would be free forever and it came with a leaflet too which also implied exactly that. Guess what it isn't free any more. The amount they charge isn't much but its more the principal behind what they are doing and how they are drumming up customers. Even though i have a mortgage and other accounts with them at the moment, i am moving them to other lenders and banks. Personally i wouldn't recommend them to anyone as they seem to be loosing their local charm and local rates for local people. Just a confused mashup of estate agents building society trying too hard to do too much under one roof causing chaos
