Eversfield Organic Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale

Rooms: Had a very restful stay in this inn. Arrived after the kitchen was closed but thankfully Amelia (I think) was very kind and managed to ask the kitchen to take my dinner order, saving us a trip to Tavistock. The steaks we had were exquisite as described in many reviews. Accommodation wise we had a double room which was very big, clean and comfortable. Although the booking stated "external toilet", the latter was really attached to the room. Everything was new, including the towels and sheets. The highlight though was the breakfast, which was delicious and beautifully presented. Really a steal for the price we paid.

Stayed for 2 nights. The steaks we had was beautifully cooked to perfection I love my steak medium rare and my husband loves his blue. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will give 5-star for the way my meat was cooked. Unfortunately, the room given to us was so small that could not take in any luggage bag. We had to leave both luggages in the car. Very inconvenient and the 2 nights were not a happy stay. Remember to check and confirm that the room one booked is not that tiny room as all other rooms were the ones advertised on Agoda website but we were pushed to a different one. Definitely, NO STAR to that room.

Absolutely divine! Food to die for, real wood fires and staff who really care. Dartmoor should be renamed and classified as a Nature Reserve, not a National Park. Too many people take the word Park literally, and destroy the landscape by playing on it with trail bikes, 4x4 vehicles, illegal or thoughtless camping, and more. Dartmoor is beautiful, serene, precious, and must remain so.
