We've used original cottages (now ingrid flute) in the past and they were fine with all their text messages and updates. However, this time we accidentally tripped the electricity using the toaster and couldn't figure out how to switch the electricity back on - we had lights but nothing else. I rang the emergency number at 7.30pm on a Saturday night (we had a Friday to Monday stay) and the automated line said someone would get back to us, which they didn't. We didn't chance messing around with the meter on the night as we still had lights though no plugs, heating or hot water so charged our phones in the car. The next morning we got help from an electrician friend who explained how to reset the meter (there weren't instructions) and got it back on by around 8am Sunday morning. Ingrid flute called me back at around 1pm on the Monday after I'd driven the 4 hours home to ask if I still needed help, even though our checkout was 9.30am. The lady explained the offices were closed over the weekend!! If you're letting out weekend holidays you need an emergency number to be able to contact someone, it's stupid that you can't get in touch with anyone! The cottage itself was fine, we've stayed there before, it was just the inability with Ingrid Flute to provide the support service if anything goes wrong.

We booked with Ingrid Flute and stayed at Honeypot House in Sleights. I wouldnt recommend this property. Our experience was very poor, I think its part of some neighbourhood dispute regarding locals vs. holiday makers and it makes for an unpleasant experience. We were confronted on our first night there by a rather angry neighbour on the doorstep because he thought wed parked outside his house on nearby Lowdale Lane. We hadnt. The instructions for the house tell you not to park there as its a private road. But the councils highways register official website tells you its an adopted road so really I just think that is disingenuous at best and that some people dont like outcomers. I dont want to spend my holiday dealing with someone elses angry neighbours. We left after one night to find somewhere more friendly. The house itself is pretty tired looking like it was decorated in a 1990s colour scheme which would have been popular back then apart from the 2 main bathrooms which were really nice. Things in the kitchen cupboards like glasses and measuring cups werent clean and the garbage bins outside were beyond overflowing. In the early hours of the morning we were awakened by people congregating outside talking loudly and using the front garden The fact that we left after one night with six left to go probably says it all. Do yourself a favour and give this one a miss
