We set off on the Coastliner for a top deck ride across the North Yorkshire moors to Whitby deciding on our way to stay over. After a little browsing came across Abbey Holiday accommodation. What a delightful treat it is. Charmingly decorated beautifully clean. Right in the heart of Whitby on the harbour bridge. Host was brilliant on our arrival. Lovely comfy bed. Room had 2 double beds. There was just the 2 of us but the room was really a great size easily accommodating 4. It has a Fridge tea and coffee. Cozy and warm. Bathroom was lovely clean and well equipped. Lovely fresh towels. Hair dryer and straighteners. Access is through a quaint little alleyway and up some windy stairs. All in really great thank you would definitely stay again.

Room was great, very clean and spacious. Only 3 stars because of the check-in experience. I followed another person into the bar to check-in. The man at the bar (maybe owner or manager) grabbed the lady from the kitchen to show the person in front of me to his room. Then I walked up to the bar and said I'm checking in. He got flustered and said I should have told him before I was checking in and not with the other person. The path between the tables to the bar was narrow and I'm not going to inturrept him checking in someone else to say I'm separate. Then he showed me the way outside down a narrow alley to where the steps to the rooms are and on the way he again said I should have told him I was separate in a rude manner. If the bar/restaurant was busy I could see why he was flustered but it was completely empty and around 3pm so not during a normal rush time.
