2nd time we ve stayed here, wouldn't stay anywhere else in Whitby,comfortable, everything you could need, great enclosed garden for the dogs,nice to sit out in, great location,15 min walk to town, beach couple minutes walk, good communication from the owner, welcome pack for humans and dogs, ample drive to park in, fantastic place to stay.

Valentines is a fabulous house, especially for us with our two dogs. It has a secure, enclosed garden, is five minutes from a great dog friendly pub (good food too) and just a couple of minutes further brings you to the fantastic beach (turn left in high season for unrestricted access for dogs). The house is very well equipped (Its a bug bear of mine that holiday lets often dont have any cleaning materials and I like to clean surfaces down properly. This one had lots.) and has plenty of storage space, cupboards and wardrobes. The other really significant factor for us was the off road parking. Parking can be a nightmare in Whitby. Certainly a big enough space for two cars although our Landrover Freelander took up quite a lot of the space. There are two small supermarkets within a five minute walk. We stayed for 6 nights and only took the car out once as everything was so convenient. It took us a very pleasant half an hour to walk along the beach to Whitby centre. We had a small issue with the TV (user-error!) and the owner, Glenn, came out twice to sort us out. He is really helpful and kind. We were very lucky to have glorious weather in March after the wettest February on record. The conservatory, with its underfloor heating, was very pleasant. All in all a great find. We WILL be back.
