Awful experience at seagull cottage. Firstly the parking. I have proof with 2 emails that the owner stated that there was never a problem to park in the street by the cottage. There was a problem, we hardly got a space all week. It was ridiculous, why make these claims when it was obviously a lie Upon arrival I have never seen cleanliness as poor as this. There was debris down the side of the sofas, food marks on the arms of the sofa. The shower head was full of scale and brown slime, the bath hadnt been cleaned. The hob in the living room was caked in dried food, there was slime in the sink, dust all the over the wooden floor downstairs as well. The bath mat was mouldy, the tv stand was so dusty you could write your name into it. Every sink had empty carex bottles by them, why supply them if you cant be bothered to refill or replace them. First impressions are everything When we asked the owner for an explanation we were met with the excuse that the hoover broke and the cleaner is usually fantastic. The owner sent the cleaner back, they turned up with their own hoover and a bottle of wine as a apology. We showed her our findings and didnt really take much notice. We left to let her do her work. When we returned it was marginally better but the shower head was still vile and the floor was still sticky. We purchased our own cleaning sprays and descaler. After descaling the shower head and cleaning the kitchen and living room floor, hoovering the sides of the sofas etc we felt we could stay. We used the hoover supplied which would only work with the Nozzle. Why should we have to do this? All week we had no hot water, we had to boil the kettle to wash dishes and clean bottles for the newborn we had with us. We didnt contact the owner as they would have brushed it off like before. Weve been offered 20% off our next stay. No thanks. Just appalling. You have to make a business, covid secure in order to be eligible to open during these times, I did not feel safe with the cleanliness of this establishment when entering. HSE will be contacted We were also told strictly in our email to make sure all evidence of our dogs must be removed when we leaved, sorry we tried but the hoover didnt work, as you well knew. How are the next guests going to get on when they arrive? Will it be hoovered? I would stay clear, it has so much potential but just seems to be a money grabbing scheme with no thought or care.

Upon arrival I have never seen cleanliness as poor as this. There was debris down the side of the sofas, food marks on the arms of the sofa. The shower head was full of scale and brown slime, the bath hadnt been cleaned. The hob in the living room was caked in dried food, there was slime in the sink, dust all the over the wooden floor downstairs as well.
The bath mat was mouldy, the tv stand was so dusty you could write your name into it.
