We celebrated our wedding in the Flowergate Unitarian Chapel last October. The Church itself is beautiful and hidden behind a green door down Flowergate. It's hundreds of years old and full of rustic charm. Through Whitby Registry Office we arranged to have a Registrar present at the ceremony which was an incredibly simple process and Reverend Margaret Kirk performed the ceremony. As a divorced woman I found it hard to get married in a church without having to answer questions, but Margaret was so wonderful and kind. We choose the vows together, put together some music and some singing (the Beatles). It was a joyful day; one I will never forget and I am truly grateful for the chapel accommodating our needs on the day!
