Winterley Pool Fishery

Wow! Top notch place, beautiful peaceful place. Took a walk today to see whats available and very beautiful place. All walkways had new wooded chips in place. Lots of places to fish. Only one angler there today who I had a brief Chat too and he said he comes every other week as he loves it here. He had caught a 15lb carp in the first half hour he got there but nothing since The price to fish here has doubled in the last year, used to be 25 but now 50! (For 24 hours) You do get stunning place to fish with good facilities toilets and showers all in a private setting.

Winterley Pool is a well known fishery for Carp up to c.20lbs weight. There are, I believe, just 12 pegs over c.7 acres of water. It is part of Winterley Winterley Pool Farm, Crewe Road, Winterley, Crewe CW1 5TR and is easily viewed from the adjacent main road, which, nowadays, is very quiet since the village was bypassed many years ago. It has no facilities for the public but is a great place to take kids for a short while. Adjacent to the main road, where it is safely fenced off, adults will be able to use the benches, while the kids throw bread and seed to the countless wild birds that frequent the pool. - many of which will take it from your fingers! I don't know what the residents think of all this, but they've probably already had a century to get used to it. Incidentally, the main Macclesfield-Crewe bus service stops within 10 feet of the pool.
