Clearly lots of other people have had great experiences with this business judging from the other reviews and that is exactly why we contacted them for the work we needed doing. Unfortunately we have had a very different experience. Over a month ago one of the handymen came out to look at our jobs which were to hang a curtain pole, some picture frames and some shelves. He seemed knowledgable, took notes and booked in the work. At this consultation we said we thought the curtain pole would need to go on a baton as the house is old and the walls may not be strong enough. The handyman assured us more than once that this wouldnt be the case and he would go straight into the wall. When the day came for the work to be done the handyman arrived after 9:30 when I was sure we had agreed 9am. This wouldnt have bothered me had the work then been done to a good standard. He started on the work drilling into the wall for the curtain pole which slid straight in. Thinking he had maybe gone between brick he tried again next to it and started on the fittings. The fitting came out of the crumbling wall and left a large hole which he then filled with caulk. He advised it would in fact need a baton and he would go get one. He then moved on and hung the four frames. I had asked for one large frame to be hung centrally above an existing shelf. This was visibly off centre when done. It was also a fairly heavy/big frame and was hung on just a picture hook which didnt seem sturdy. I also asked for the 3 other frames to be hung level with each other. Again these were visibly not level when done. 3 canvases were hung in my sons room with picture hooks, one of these came straight out of the wall after the handyman left and fell down the back of the radiator. The handyman then went to work on the shelves. My partner asked whether we were likely to get the same problem with the crumbling wall as had happened with the curtain pole. The handyman said no as this was an external wall. It was actually an internal wall. My partner asked him not to do the shelves and said not to bother coming back with a baton for the pole. As the handyman was leaving my partner enquired about the charge for the work, the handyman said he wouldnt be charging us as they wouldnt want a bad review. Needless to say we were disappointed with the work as not even the simple bits of hanging the frames could be left as they were. On top of this there were a few red flags in that the handyman had turned up for the job without any picture hooks and without stepladders despite taking notes on what would be needed at the consultation. We were also left with pencil marks all over the walls (not just under the frames) and black marks where the pole fittings had been scraped on the ceiling. Again not something I would complain about had the work been done properly but adds to the overall picture in the circumstances. Later after looking at the work I contacted the company and was told that another handyman would come to sort the work out. Another handyman did come the same night and he assured us that the work was fixable and told us what should have been done with the wall to affix the curtain pole properly in this age of house. He asked us to contact him when the caulk had dried and he would come and fix all the jobs. We were happy with this outcome and felt we had just been unlucky but it would be sorted. After a week I contacted the second handyman by text and didnt get a reply. Around a week later I called and was told that he was on a job but would call me back in 2 hours, I didnt receive a call back. I left it another week and then text again and again no response. I then contacted the company and was told that this was out of character and they would chase the handyman. This was now over 2 weeks ago and hence we now feel we have no choice but to leave this negative review as we have been left for over a month now with the poor work/damage and despite repeated attempts to give the benefit of the doubt and have the work fixed it doesnt seem that is going to happen.
