        I put strulch around my perennials and strawberries as carefully as I could. Making sure not to suffocate the plants. However the product has burnt the leaves, more so on the strawberries. The straw also entices birds to scratch around the plants, either partially covering the plants or even to dig up the younger plants. I have removed the majority of Strulch as its more hassle even if it were free.
