Mixed feelings about this place. Lets break it down (Room 5, 2nd floor front, 85pn) Pros + Very clean and tidy + Nicely decorated room + Mini fridge in room (albeit switched off upon arrival so plug it in if you want to use it) + Great sea view from the room + Ideal location close to seafront + Comfy beds + Delicious breakfast (although no offering on how you want your eggs - luckily I do love mine runny!) + Wi-Fi was fine Cons - Rude welcome by Lynda. She said You woke me up! Just thought Id rest for 5 mins, despite having texted her shortly prior confirming it was ok for us to come now, to which she said yes Im home now, so a poor attitude, poor people skills, and not bubbly at all. Gary on the other hand pleasant, offering to take our bags upstairs. - No toilet roll holder - its the little things - No towel rail, just a single hook for a *two* bed room, so it was hard to dry the towels (had to hang one on wardrobe door handle) - No biscuits or shower gels / shampoos, maybe Im nitpicking there - The bath towels were pretty small - No extractor fan in the bathroom, thats just a basic ventilation requirement to keep the property damp-free - Shower takes c3 minutes for hot water to come through, and is not powerful at all, but its not a major problem - Bathroom overall is very small and claustrophobic, especially compared to the size of the room itself. Can barely sit on toilet comfortably and the toilet seat doesnt go back far enough so it will keep falling down until you find that optimum angle for it to stay up. As you can see, most of the issues relate to the bathroom, for which some aspects can be improved relatively quickly and easily (e.g. cheap toilet roll holder, another towel hook, etc.) One thing that definitely needs addressing though is the attitude. I think it was fitting that there was no welcome pack at all. Overall I think its probably worth the money and based on the location, bedroom quality and nice breakfast it probably reflects the price, but, ironically, having basic manners comes free. I dont think it would win Four in a Bed. I write these detailed reviews so as to provide my honest feedback and the truth, and to hopefully enable feasible opportunities for the business to improve, and not for me to just sound like Im complaining. I hope Ive achieved that in this review and that the owner sees this. Bon voyage.
